2013 Gibson 59 reissue (Shadows of 59)

This is a limited edition "Shadows of 59" only 1 of 25 commissioned by Vic DaPra of the Guitar Gallery in 2013. These feature an unfaded cherry finish underneath the toggle switch and pickguard as if the rest of the guitar has been faded around it. Very cool, and rarely done by Gibson.

The flame on the top can go from very very subtle to intense depending on the angle and light. Nice wide flames that seem to move and invert based on the direction of viewing... truly a work of art! Weight is 9.1 lbs.

This guitar has many sweet options - kind of a made to measure if you will per Vic's spec's. It has a gloss finish with a faded looking Felder Burst color, along with the previously mentioned unfaded cherry red finish underneath the toggle switch and pickguard. Plus slightly aged metal and plastic parts like a real 1959 Les Paul that had been stashed away in a closet for decades. Now you don't have to clean off the VOS gunk from the top, it's already gloss, but with the aged hardware.

Finally it has all the 2013 appointments of course that make these one of the most accurate reissues ever:
hot hide glue neck set
1 piece rosewood fretboard
real celluloid inlays
new vintage accurate truss rod with no sleeve
Custom Bucker pickups
correct aniline dye in the cherry pore filler for the back color
new neck and body binding with a more accurate vintage color
new single line Kluson tuners with translucent tips
